NEW DELHI: Preity Zinta, Bollywood actor and co-owner of the KingsXI Punjab, is confident that change of guard in their IPL side would not have any adverse affect on the team’s performance since they do not support ‘I’ and ‘Me’ culture.

Yuvraj Singh, the flamboyant southpaw, was replaced by Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara as captain of the team for the third season, beginning on Friday in Mumbai.

Under Yuvraj they reached the semi-final stage in the first edition in 2008 but failed miserably last year.

The Bollywood beauty said Yuvraj is a vital cog of their team and what they have done is not something alien.

“In Kings, there is no place for ‘I’ and ‘Me’. Whole team shares good rapport and goodwill. There are no issues in the squad. Various teams have indulged in changing the structure time to time. Both Yuvraj and Sanga are wise men and integral part of the team,” Zinta said.

There were some reports that coach Tom Moody was not happy with Yuvraj’s attitude and had complained that the Indian superstar ignored team management’s advice.

Anil Srivatsa, the franchise’s chief executive officer, said, “Being taken off the leadership role does not diminish Yuvraj’s standing in the team. Yuvraj’s inputs are vital for us and this has got nothing to do with all this.”
